Drive4USA Announces Casey Neal Selected as 2006 Drive4USA driver
Atlanta, GA: Drive4USA announces its official support for 2005 Red Bull
World Driver Search Finalist, Casey Neal. Drive4USA will be displayed as a
major sponsor of Casey Neal’s John Walko Racing entry at his debut,
season-opening Star Mazda Championship Presented by Goodyear event on March
17 at Sebring International Raceway. The Drive4USA logo will be prominently
displayed on the entry and Neal will participate as a spokesman for
Drive4USA. Neal will display the Drive4USA stripes logo on his driving suit,
an honor reserved exclusively for the drivers chosen to represent Drive4USA.
Neal joins a proud list of American open-wheel racers representing
Drive4USA including 2004 Star Mazda Series Champion Michael McDowell.
“I am very excited to add Casey Neal to our Drive4USA family of
up-and-coming racers. The feedback I am hearing about Casey suggests that
he is truly a rare talent behind the wheel and I am excited that he will be
one of our supported drivers,” said Drive4USA Director, Rick Waddell. “Our
goal is to select the very best drivers possible and help them achieve their
goals of moving up the open-wheel racing ladder system. I am confident that
Casey will continue our growing tradition of success.”
“It’s a great honor to be selected as a Drive4USA driver,” said 17 year-old
Neal. “The opportunities Drive4USA has helped create for drivers are
fantastic. I look forward to working with Mr. Waddell and being a part of
the Drive4USA team.”
Drive4USA is an initiative developed over the past several years that
selects and assists various up-and-coming American drivers compete in
open-wheel classes of motorsport. As more and more drivers are selected as
part of the program, the credibility and significance related to the choice
itself is of increasing importance. To be selected as a “Drive4USA” driver
tells the motorsport community that the driver is one who possesses special
racing talents, both on the track and off of it. He/she warrants the
attention of those who seek the best drivers from the American training
ground ladder system. Neal earned his Drive4USA “stripes” by virtue of his
stunning and sensational record at the Red Bull Drivers Search Semi-Finals
at Sebring, FL on his way to being selected as one of two American drivers
chosen to compete at the 2005 Red Bull World Finals at Estroril.
In the past, numerous Toyota Atlantic (now Champ Car Atlantic) and Star
Mazda drivers have been Drive4USA participants including Pete Mercier, Andy
Lally, Case Montgomery, Grant Ryley, Bryan Sellers and Michael McDowell.
Neal joins Dane Cameron, the 2005 SCCA Formula Russell Champion as current
Drive4USA drivers.
