East
Bridgewater, Massachusetts — The East
Coast Run Off for 2005 Red Bull Driver
Search concluded today at F1 Outdoors in
East Bridgewater, MA after two days of
intense competition. Five racers emerged
victorious in this Program designed to
find the next American Formula 1
champion.
The winners:
Casey Neal, Middletown, OH (age 17)
Chris Keller, Green Brook, NJ (age 17)
Logan Gomez, Crown Point, IN (age 16)
Timmy Megenbier, Melrose Park, IL (age
14)
Justin Larson, Safety Harbor, FL (age

On Wednesday, 100 teenagers from the
Eastern region of the United States
participated in the
long anticipated
event. They were tested and evaluated in CRG karts with Junior Rotax engines
prepared by SSC Racing. After a grueling
day of racing, the field was reduced to
just 16 drivers. These 16 returned today
for an even more challenging competition
in Rotax RM 1 Superkarts racing at
speeds of up to 60-mph.
The select five progress to the Semi
Final at Sebring International Raceway,
FL where they will test in Skip Barber
Formula Dodge racecars. At the Semi
Final, they will join the five karters
who will be selected at the West Coast
Run Off in Sonoma, CA next month. In
addition, up to ten scouted drivers will
be chosen by undercover scouts to join
this elite group of karters in Sebring.
The Red Bull Driver Search aims to
discover and support talented young
racing drivers. The long-term goal is to
have a steady group of three to six
American drivers racing on the Red Bull
Junior Team in Europe, groomed to break
into Formula 1 and compete for the World
Championship.
